About me
Hi, I’m Dr Nicole Eisen. I began practising meditation in 2010 and was struck by the benefits I experienced, so in 2013 I left my career in management and training within Citizens Advice and embarked on a research PhD to explore the effects of meditation. In 2014, I decided to train to teach mindfulness to others alongside my PhD and I trained in a variety of approaches.
Since 2015, I have been teaching mindfulness in workplaces, schools, and one-to-one. I have experience of writing and recording meditation guidance for mindfulness apps and an exercise studio, and of running mindfulness and compassion retreats.
In 2018, I trained to supervise mindfulness teachers.
In 2023, after two maternity leaves and a lot of literal blood, sweat, and tears, I completed my PhD in Psychology from the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London. My research focused on compassion-based approaches with children and young people. You can find my thesis and publications here.
I am a trial therapist for the University of Cambridge on the ATTEND trial, a multi-site, large-scale, randomised-controlled trial investigating the effectiveness of a novel mindfulness intervention for adolescents with depression and their carers.
In 2024, I became an Associate Trainer for Mindfulness in Schools Project.
I continue my own practice of meditation and regularly attend retreats, including silent and solitary retreats. I have a particular interest in the science of meditation, compassion meditation, and mindfulness of dream and sleep.
I have been a registered teacher with BAMBA, the British Association of Mindfulness-Based Approaches, and adhere to their Good Practice Guidelines.
I teach both in person and online. I teach in person within a wide radius, having previously taught in London, Oxfordshire, Berkshire, Surrey, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, and Cambridgeshire.
I live in London with my husband and two children. My passions are mindfulness, badminton, and creating music.

"Nicole has been an inspiration. She is a skilful and knowledgeable practitioner. Her own commitment to mindfulness shines through and supports and encourages. She has encouraged even the most sceptical to trust the practice in a warm and empowering way. I hope many other professionals have the opportunity to experience this."
